The words for this track come from a 3-line "apology" from my de-facto mother in law, who has been spreading lies about me to everyone with whom we may or may not have mutual contact, for SEVEN YEARS. Since she's not sure which lies I've heard, she sent a non-specific email apology two days before Christmas when she realised we wouldn't be doing the whole "aren't we all a family" bullshit boring Skype call. If I ignored it, I would be the dick for ignoring it and ruining her Christmas. If I responded angrily, I would be the dick for not accepting an apology (no matter how insincere) two days before Christmas, if I replied and played the game, I'd be setting myself up to continue the cycle. So instead, I just wrote this song, and made a nice video for it. We have no mutual acquaintances left, so she can tell whatever lies she likes, and I don't need to hear about it. If you have a chronically lying narcissist trying to create drama and wreck the relationships in your lives, people, go "no-contact" -- life gets a lot better!
