Human belief systems and their sustaining mythologies have fascinated me since I was a child. They’re a big part of my life and my experience, to the point that I tend to view ordinary things… the news, fads, other popular phenomena… from a peculiar kind of anthropological standpoint.

Empire was an exercise in exploring the psychological landscape of modern life from a variety of different characterisations and viewpoints. With Let There Be Light, I wanted to examine “faith” in theory and practice, with a specific intention of respectfully bringing essential beliefs into view within the context of their continuing relevance to the world we’re living in now. As a coherent whole, pointing to something beyond the doctrines and divisions that people are most eager to maintain and beyond the “mere present”. For all that, there are some interesting and fun songs here.
