This is my only honest-to-goodness wholesome love song to date. I like it a lot, I think it has more depth to it than it seems, and I like the atmospheric ambience backing up the story (I also like coffee, and this song, you can kind of smell coffee wafting through). There's something vulnerable and guarded (at first) about this guy, and I like the way he blossoms out of that when someone actually makes the effort to break through that shell he's had to develop. I like the characters and the way that, despite all the everyday stress of living under the Empire, love blossoms in unexpected, mundane everyday settings just as it always has throughout all human history, and there's beauty in that undying spirit. There is Great Magic in the commonplace. It's probably my most hope-filled and hopeful song I've ever written, too, nestled in all this sardonic, jaded other stuff.
